Kamaluddeen Musa, 22, a final-year student at the Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education in Kangere, has been detained by the Bauchi state police command for the murder of Usman Umar, a final-year student at the same institution.
It was reported that the two got into a fight over who was the genuine boyfriend of a fellow female student at their lodge in MD Burra on Lagos Street on Monday, November 28, 2022, around 11:00 am. The debate turned into a brawl, during which Kamaluddeen fatally stabbed Usman.
Apparently, Usman dared to claim the girl, and Kamaluddeen, a known drug user, threatened to deal with him for it. Usman then declared that he had left the girl for him, according to a student who saw the incident. The dead was told to leave the room to prevent issues, but when he returned to grab some of his possessions, Kamaluddeen rushed on him and fatally stabbed him with a knife on his stomach three times, the witness continued.
Kamalludeen is alleged to have boasted about his father's position as a police sergeant after the incident and claimed that nothing would happen to him.
