Details for Eligibility and Registration for Babcock University Post-UTME 2023

 Babcock University is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals for admissions into its 4, 5, or 6-year degree courses for the 2023/2024 academic session.


General Entry Requirements:



Candidates aiming for First Degree Programs must possess a minimum of 5 credits at GCE/SSCE/NECO Examinations or their equivalent, not exceeding 2 sittings. However, only one sitting is required for Medicine. Candidates below the age of 15 are advised not to apply.


Candidates awaiting the 2022 WAEC/NECO/SSCE results will need to present acceptable qualifications before matriculation.


All applicants to Babcock University are obliged to participate in the current JAMB examination (for 100 Level) or apply for JAMB Direct Entry admissions (for Direct Entry). Transfer Admissions applicants must present JAMB Admission letter, Transcript, and Attestation Letter from the previous University.

Offered Degree: B.A. (Hons.) History and International Studies


Requirements: A total of 5 credits in GCE/SSCE/NECO, including English Language, Mathematics, History/Government, and any other 2 subjects.


Department of Languages and Literary Studies

Degrees Offered: 1.) B.A. (Hons.) English Studies

                             2.) B.A. (Hons.) French


Requirements: For both options above, 5 credits in English Language, Mathematics, Literature in English, and any other two subjects. For the second option, a credit pass in French may replace Literature in English.


Department of Religious Studies

Degree Offered: B.A. (Hons.) Christian Religious Studies.


Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, CRK, and any other 3 subjects. A pass in Mathematics is required for the program.

Direct Entry: Holders of NCE, OND, HND, or equivalents can apply for Direct Entry. Applicants should also have O’ Level credits as stated above or Grade II with merit-level passes in 5 subjects.


Department of Music and Creative Arts

Offered Degree: B.A. (Hons.) Music


Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, and any other four subjects. A credit or pass in Music and Mathematics is beneficial.

Direct Entry: In addition, holders of NCE, OND, HND in Music or its equivalent can apply for Direct Entry. Applicants should also have 5 credits including English Language or Grade II with merit-level passes in 5 subjects.

Offered Degree: LLB. (Hons) Law


Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, Literature in English, Mathematics, and any other two social science subjects.

Direct Entry: Advanced level, Higher School Certificate, or Bachelor of Arts degree in any related course from an accredited University with second class lower division and above. Candidates must present transcripts and O’ level results as stated in the requirements above.


School of Management Sciences

Department of Accounting

Offered Degree: B.Sc. (Hons) Accounting


Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, Economics, Mathematics, and any other two relevant subjects.

Direct Entry: Holders of OND/HND/ACA/ACCA/ICMA/ATS, along with 5 credits in the required subjects at O’Level, are eligible for Direct Entry. Note that a pass in Economics might be considered if the candidate has a credit in Accounting or Commerce.

One Year Professional Training: After completing the BSc Accounting program, students can enroll for a one-year professional class to sit for ACA/ACCA/CITN/CIMA Certification Examinations. Exemptions under MOU with various professional bodies can be obtained after BSc Certification.

Internship: ACCA registered students will be attached to designated companies for practical experience during long holidays from 100 Level to 400 Level, as part of the MOU with ACCA.

Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, Economics, Mathematics, and any other two relevant Social Science subjects.

This program prepares graduates for roles such as Archivist, Database Manager, Digital Collection Librarian, and many other careers. Requirements include 5 Credits in English Language, Mathematics, and any other 3 subjects in either social or pure science.

Offered Degree: BMLS (Hons) Medical Laboratory Science


Requirements: To pursue this degree, candidates should have 5 credits (not more than two sittings) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Direct Entry:

a.) In addition to the 5 credits in the subjects stipulated at O’ level, candidates must have a pass in GCE at Advance Level in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Zoology).


b.) Graduates with at least a second-class honour degree (lower division) in related disciplines are eligible to apply, in addition to the 5 credits in the subjects stipulated at O’ level.


c.) Holders of Medical Laboratory Technician certificates are also eligible to apply, in addition to the 5 credits in the subjects stipulated at O’ level.


SCHOOL OF NURSING SCIENCE


Department of Nursing Science

Offered Degree: BNSc. (Hons.) Nursing Science


Requirements: Candidates interested in this program must meet the minimum university requirements for admission to the degree Program, which includes an acceptable pass at the university Identity and Document Verification. They must also have a minimum of credit (C) level passes at the senior secondary school certificate examination (SSCE) or its equivalent in five subjects, at not more than two sittings. These subjects must include English language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. Registered Nurses (RN) with credit level passes in the listed SSCE subjects may be admitted by Direct Entry into 200 level provided they meet other University admission requirements.
