FUTO 2023 Post-UTME/DE: Find out about the cut-off mark, who's eligible, how to register, and the screening particulars.

Prospective candidates who have selected the Federal University of Technology, Owerri as their preferred institution for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) are hereby extended an invitation to participate in the Screening Exercise for admission. The following stipulations are applicable:


  1. The application process will commence on September 1, 2023, and conclude on September 30, 2023.
  2. UTME candidates are required to attain a minimum score of 160 in their UTME.
  3. Direct Entry candidates must hold qualifications such as OND/HND/First Degree and possess A'Levels in relevant disciplines and subjects.
  4. Applicants who did not initially choose FUTO as their primary university but scored a minimum of 160 can still apply on the condition that they initiate a change of institution through the JAMB website.


Procedure for Payment and Registration:

Eligible candidates are expected to make a processing fee payment of Two Thousand Naira (N2,000.00).




To initiate registration, follow these steps:

  • Access the University's official website: futo.edu.ng
  • Navigate to "Prospective Students"
  • Select "Undergraduate"
  • Click on "2023/2024 POST-UTME/Direct Entry Application."
  • Input your JAMB Registration Number to generate a Payment Invoice containing the Remita Retrieval Reference Number (RRR).
  • Complete the payment at any bank or use your ATM Card for online payment.
  • Return to the Application page and input your JAMB Registration number once more.
  • Proceed to fill out the form accurately.
  • Provide your O'Level results correctly.
  • Verify your entries.
  • Submit your application.
  • Print your acknowledgment slip.
  • Await further communication from the University.

Candidates who successfully complete the registration process above will receive access to a link where they can upload their O'Level credentials for screening.


Nature of the Screening Exercise:

The 2023/2024 Post-UTME and Direct Entry Screening Exercise will be based on verified JAMB scores and WAEC/GCE/NECO results uploaded on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).


Important Notes:

  • Ensure you provide an accurate mobile number and email address for communication purposes.
  • Upload your O'Level results on the JAMB PORTAL no later than September 30, 2023.
  • Candidates who fail to register within the specified period will not be eligible for the Exercise.
  • Only applicants who successfully complete the online application will be considered for admission.


For Direct Entry Candidates:

  • Ensure that your academic transcript reaches the Registrar of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, no later than September 30, 2023.
  • Candidates who fail to submit their academic transcripts will not be considered for admission.
