KWASU announces Postgraduate Admission for the academic year 2023/2024.

Applications are open to qualified candidates for admission into Kwara State University, Malete's Postgraduate programs (Full-time and Part-time) for the 2023/2024 Academic Session.

Kwara State University, Malete, is proud to announce that applications are now open for qualified candidates seeking admission into its Postgraduate programs for both Full-time and Part-time modes for the 2023/2024 Academic Session. This comprehensive guide will provide you with all the essential information you need to navigate the admission criteria, application process, and program structure.

Admission Criteria

a. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Programs

Eligibility for Postgraduate Diploma admission includes:

i. Graduates of Kwara State University or other recognized universities.

ii. Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) (not HD) with a minimum of a Credit pass or its equivalent in relevant fields.

iii. Candidates with acceptable qualifications other than those mentioned above, approved by the Board of School of Postgraduate Studies and the University Senate.

iv. In addition to (i) – (iii) above, candidates must meet the University's matriculation requirements.

The PGD Program's duration ranges from a minimum of 2 semesters to a maximum of 4 semesters.

b. Master's Degree (Academic)

Eligibility for Masters' degree admission includes:

i. Graduates of Kwara State University or other recognized universities with an approved Bachelor's degree and at least a Second Class (Upper Division).

ii. Candidates with a Second Class Lower Division may be considered for admission, subject to a qualifying examination.

iii. Additionally, candidates must meet the University's matriculation criteria.

c. M.Phil./Ph.D.

Candidates seeking admission into the M.Phil./Ph.D. program should possess a Master's degree with a minimum cumulative (Weighted) Average Score of 55%. Such candidates must fulfill the University's matriculation criteria. The M.Phil./Ph.D. may be terminal if the candidate scores below 60% after the M.Phil examination.

d. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree Programs

Candidates applying for admission into the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program must hold a Master's degree with a minimum Cumulative (Weighted) Average Score of 60%. These candidates must also satisfy the University's matriculation prerequisites.

Duration

A. Full-time

The Masters' degree program (Full-time) requires a minimum of three (3) semesters and a maximum of six (6) semesters. The M.Phil. program lasts for a minimum of two (2) semesters and a maximum of four (4) semesters.

The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree program (Full-time) is designed for a minimum of six (6) semesters and a maximum of ten (10) semesters.

B. Part-time

For the Part-time Master's degree program, the minimum period is six (6) semesters, and the maximum is eight (8) semesters. The Part-time Ph.D. program requires a minimum of eight (8) semesters.

Program Structure

All academic programs will be a blend of coursework and research.

Fee Payment Procedure

a) Visit https://portal.kwasu.edu.ng.

b) Click on "Apply now."

c) Select the "Postgraduate" link under the Apply Now menu.

d) Provide the requested details in the form and click the Next button.

e) Click on "Make Payment."

f) Enter your ATM Card information for payment.

g) After successful payment, an application number will be generated.

h) Take note of your application number.

i) Log in using your application number and surname as the password to complete your application.

j) Once completed, print out your application and payment receipt.

Note: Payment is exclusively accepted via Interswitch MasterCard or Verve Card.

Application Guidelines

a). Applicants intending to pursue postgraduate studies at the University should first visit www.kwasu.edu.ng to check the specified entry requirements and then follow the instructions to initiate an online application.

b). The sale of application forms begins on Friday, 25th August 2023 and concludes on Tuesday, 24th October 2023.

c). The application form fee is N30,000:00 (Thirty Thousand Naira only).

d). All candidates are required to arrange for their official Bachelor's or Master's degree academic transcript to be sent to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, Kwara State University, Malete by Friday, 27th October 2023.
